Latest Update: Umrah Visa Validity Rules for Indian Pilgrims (2025)

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has recently updated the Umrah visa validity period for all pilgrims, including those travelling from India.

Saudi Arabia has reduced the validity period for the entry visa for Umrah from three months to one month from the date of issuance. However, the validity period for the stay after the pilgrim's arrival in Saudi Arabia remains unchanged at three months

Before, pilgrims had three months (90 Days) to enter Saudi Arabia after their visa was approved. Now, this time has been reduced to one month (30 days) from the date of visa issuance. If you do not travel within this one-month (30 Days) period, your Umrah visa will expire, and you will need to apply for a new one.

Once you enter Saudi Arabia, you can still stay for up to three months (90 days) to complete your Umrah. The stay duration has not changed.

For example, if your visa is issued on 10 November, you must enter Saudi Arabia before 10 December. After arriving, you can stay until 10 March.

To avoid any issues, apply for your Umrah visa only when your travel dates are confirmed. Make sure to book your flights and hotels within the 30-day entry period, and always check with your Umrah agent in India before applying.

In short, Indian pilgrims now have one month to enter Saudi Arabia after visa approval, but they can still stay for three months once they arrive.

Why This Change Matters

Many Indian pilgrims prefer to apply for Umrah visas well in advance — often to secure early flight and hotel deals. With the reduced entry window, it’s now essential to plan your travel dates carefully before applying.

Make sure to:

  • Apply for your Umrah visa only when your travel plans are confirmed.

  • Book flights and hotels that fall within the 30-day entry period.

  • Work closely with your Umrah travel agent in India to coordinate visa issuance and travel dates.
